Seguem uns extractos sobre Val Thorens que vêm num guia das melhores estâncias do mundo de Snowboard: "Footprint Snowboarding The World" (este guia é um "must have"):
The Town
"Being the highest resort in Europe, Val Thoren's inclusion in this book was a foregone conclusion. Though it's a purpose-built resort and hardly pleasing to the eye, it's still a far cry from the architectural horror of its neighbour, Les Menuires, a short way down the valley. It has quite a cosmopolitan feel - the clientele consists of Scandinavian, French and English in equal measure, and all the groups mix well. This result in a friendly and welcoming vibe, with the nightlife frequently becoming boisterous, in the nicest possible way."
The Mountain
"Val Thorens' status as Europe's highest resort means that good snow condition are virtually guaranteed. The flip side of this is that it can suffer from adverse weather, and since it's entirely above the treeline, cloud often halts play. That aside, this is a top class mountain with a wealth of good pistes and great freeriding on offer. Though it's part of the Three Valleys, the VT valley itself takes in Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville, and most people would be hard pushed to exhaust the possibilities in a week. Rounding things off are a fast and efficient lift system and a pretty decent park and pipe".

Já estava a ver se havia voos na EasyJet para dias mais cedo...
Cheira-me que esta viagem não vai ser nada divertida, que não vamos ter neve, que vai ser uma seca...
